Getting to know clients

The best part of being a makeup artist is transforming my client and knowing that they look and feel great about themselves. It is very rewarding for me.

When meeting a new client, I look at how they take care of their skin. It tells me a lot. How much time do they invest into their everyday skin care and make-up regime.?

Do they work full time, have kids and running a family household? What’s their exercise routines like?
I ask questions to determine what their lifestyle is like so we can create a look that will work best for their job or in their spare time. Also, if they have an active nightlife, what they need to apply to enhance the make-up look from job to happy hour!

If it’s a special occasion such as a wedding, I always suggest doing a trial make-up application first to get an idea of how your wedding makeup will look. That will determine if you want to hire that make-up artist for your special day. Also, you should always be able to ask the artist to change something if you aren’t quite happy with it. For example the eye make-up application. If you want more or less…it’s up to you.
If you’re paying for the trial, they should be willing to work with you to make you happy.
